“But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can’t share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.” - Chapter 10, Halloween.

Harry Potter 30 Day Challenge | Days 16-25

I know I’m so not doing this properly. D:

Day 16 | There Wasn’t a Day 16 for Some Odd Reason

O.O

Day 17 | Are You Excited About the Deathly Hallows Movie…

…or scared it won’t do the book justice? I’m mostly excited. Actually, I can’t wait!!! And there are two movies this time, so hopefully they’ll be able to tie up the story in a satisfying manner.

Day 18 | Least Favorite Book

Again, I’m going to have to go with Chamber of Secrets. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Harry’s life was extra-depressing that year. Also, I remember after reading it, I was terrified of bathrooms. I kept imagining myself looking into the mirror and seeing a basilisk and getting petrified. I also didn’t like Order of the Phoenix at certain parts, like when Umbridge was messing things up and Harry was busy being a moody teenager. (I still liked it though! Because Luna was introduced.)

Day 19 | Books vs. Films

Definitely the books. The movies are great, but they just can’t replace J.K. Rowling’s storytelling. There’s so much more in the books that the movies just can’t include.

Day 20 | If You Could Meet One Member of the Cast…

…who would it be? Probably Emma Watson. She plays one of my favorite characters, and in real life she seems like a very intelligent person who would be fun to have a conversation with. Although if I actually did meet her, I don’t think I’d be calm enough to have a conversation. I’d just go into fangirl mode. xP

Day 21 | Which Character Would You Bring Back…

…out of all the ones that died? Oh gosh. If I had that power, I would bring back Fred. For George. Because the two of them just go together.

Day 22 | Harry Potter vs. Twilight

Does this even have to be asked? HARRY POTTER ALL THE WAY.

Harry Potter is a tale of adventure, mystery, romance, and coming-of-age. Twilight is about a girl who has the misfortune of having to choose whether she wants a vampire or a werewolf for a boyfriend.

Okay, confession time: I totally went through a vampire phase when I was fifteen. I read the first Twilight book and thought, “OMG THIS BOOK THIS AMAZING. I WANT MY OWN EDWARD; WHERE’S MY EDWARD?!” Then I read the second one and the third one, and I liked each book less and less. By the time I reached the fourth book, I had come to my senses. I finished Breaking Dawn (sort of—I skipped a bunch of chapters that described Bella’s pregnancy for fear that I’d throw up on a library book) and thought, “Wow, this is garbage. WHY AM I READING THIS?!” And thus ended my vampire phase.

[Side note: my vampire phase didn’t only include Twilight. I also read Vampire Knight, a manga with incredible art but a not-so-great story. I eventually stopped reading that too.]

Day 23 | What Part of the Books or Movies Makes You Cry?

Hmmmmm. Good question. SS: nothing. CoS: nothing again. PoA: still nothing. GoF: I wasn’t that attached to Cedric, so…nothing. OotP: when Sirius died and Harry was in Dumbledore’s office throwing a grief-filled fit. HBP: everyone’s reactions to Dumbledore’s death. DH: when Dobby died. And Fred. :(

Day 24 | Any Particular Scene…

…you wished would have been put in the movie but wasn’t? Uh…in HBP I would’ve liked to see more of Dumbledore’s memories of young Tom Riddle. Dumbledore’s funeral would’ve also made a poignant scene.

Day 25 | Nineteen Years Later

Are you happy with how it turned out, or do you wish something was different? Besides the fact that I’m not a Harry/Ginny shipper (I don’t mind Ron/Hermione), yes I am happy with the way it turned out. I know some people didn’t like how everyone ended up with the people they were supposed to end up with (like a perfect, cheesy fairytale ending), and how some of the children’s names were really bizarre, but I liked it. I loved seeing Harry with his family, at peace and happy with his life for once. He really deserves a break, doesn’t he? :)

Maybe for the last five days I’ll remember to post on a daily basis. O.O On another note, I have 300 followers now?! Hello and thank you for following! :)
